Matusalem
Matusalem & Company was established in Santiago de Cuba in 1872 by Spanish brothers Benjamin and Eduardo Camp, who revolutionized rum by introducing the Solera aging system borrowed from Spanish sherry production. This innovation elevated the spirit’s complexity and smoothness. In 1888, the brand’s iconic swallow logo was registered, and stewardship transitioned to the Camp nephews and the Álvarez family.
After thriving during Cuba’s rum golden age (1920s–1950s), Matusalem was uprooted by the Cuban Revolution and later relaunched in exile. In 2002, under the leadership of Claudio Álvarez Salazar and subsequently his son Claudio Álvarez Renaud, the brand was reborn in the Dominican Republic. Today, Matusalem is crafted in Monte Plata and is recognized as a global premium rum, distributed in over 70 countries.

Gran Reserva 15 Años: Soft and inviting, this Solera-aged rum features notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, and gentle oak.
Gran Reserva 23: An ultra-premium expression, distinguished by deep elegance and layers of spice, toasted oak, coffee, banana, and honey.
Other expressions include Solera 7, Clásico 10, Platino, limited editions like Sublime, and the tribute Lefebre series, offering a full spectrum of styles for discerning rum enthusiasts.
Production emphasizes Solera-driven maturation in a blend of bourbon and international oak casks, guided by a secret family recipe that has remained unchanged for over 150 years.
