Atlantico

Atlántico Rum is a super-premium brand launched in 2008 by Brandon Lieb and Aleco Azqueta in Florida, with the endorsement of Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias.

Sourced from the Dominican Republic and crafted by renowned blender Oliver & Oliver, Atlántico employs a meticulous solera process. Small-batch rums—both cane juice and molasses-based—are individually aged for 2–3 years, then married and matured an additional two years in casks. Final aging takes place in a solera system (up to 15 years), with a touch of unaged aguardiente added before bottling, yielding remarkable complexity and depth.

The Atlántico portfolio features three distinctive expressions:

• Platino: A refined, lighter rum—once described as a “premium white rum”—offering elegance and versatility.

  
  

• Reserva: A golden blend that delivers smooth complexity. Aromas of vanilla, caramel, tropical fruit, and soft spice lead to a palate rich with dried fruit, vanilla, and warming spices.

  
  

• Gran Reserva (Private Cask): A rich, solera-aged blend (with components up to 23 years), presenting notes of smooth caramel, marzipan, and baking spice.

In 2018, Atlántico was acquired by Domaine Select Wine & Spirits, which now manages its U.S. distribution and marketing—helping the brand reach a broader audience of rum enthusiasts.
