Appleton Estate Extra 12 Years is often regarded as the ultimate expression of the rum maker's art and the oldest and most famous of Jamaica's sugarcane estates. Distilled in traditional copper pot stills, Appleton Extra is a superb blend of rums, many aged for as long as 18 years. Its bold character and smooth taste can easily be compared to the exemplary qualities of fine cognac or single malt scotch. A rich, burned-sugar and cream aroma is fulfilled in the smooth taste. The afterglow is toffee and caramel that warms the throat. It is best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as a 'topper' in exotic tropical drinks.
