Bielle Brut de Fût Vintage 1994 Extra Old Agricole Rum was bottled straight from the barrel in a beautifully elegant decanter. Only 300 were made, and each one is individually numbered. Bielle 1994 is an exceptional rum, naturally aged for 17 years in American oak barrels, having previously contained bourbon, then old Trinidadian rum. Mahogany color. Nosing reveals a powerful combination of vanilla, coconut milk, dried fruits, cinnamon, and nutmeg aromas. The palate is concentrated and mouth-filling unfolding rich dried fruit, butterscotch, and menthol-like flavors with a spicy overlay. The drying oak balances the mid-palate perfectly. A lump of Barley sugar and a dried banana aftertaste.
