Cartavio Rum XO 18 Years was released in 2009 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the distillery. The distillery is now a fully up-to-date facility, situated next to a large sugar mill, ensuring a constant flow of fresh molasses. Spirits from two stills are blended into Cartavio’s XO: an exquisite old pot still rescued from the original distillery grounds, plus a modern continuous pot still. Cartavio Rum XO 18 Years is an exceptionally complex premium rum made from rums of up to 30 years aged in a casks variety such as Sherry, bourbon, French oak, and American white oak.
Dark warm reddish amber color. On the palate, soft and delicate with magnificent aromatic diversity. Notes of toffee and chocolate, vanilla, spice notes, and sweetish fruit essences. The finish is an extraordinary velvety soft length. Outstanding!
