Cockspur Old Gold is an impeccable blend made using a generous helping of pure, light-bodied rum and a hint of full pot still rum, aged at least five years in single used bourbon barrels.
Beautiful light goldish orange color. The nose starts alcoholic but fades with time to a mild rum aroma. This rum needs time to open up, at which point the scent becomes sweet molasses with dry fruit. The mouth has a sweet, silky, smooth flavor that leaves a beautiful oak taste on the palate. Slightly reminiscent of bourbon. Spicy finish with a mild sweetness.
