Under natural climatic conditions, Flor de Caña Centenario aged 18 years in small (180 liters) white oak barrels. The barrels are used only once before aging, which contributes to the flavor and aroma of Flor de rums. Rich copper color. Dark caramel, buttered nuts, and spice aromas. A rich, supple entry leads to a dense, dryish, full-bodied palate with rich dark chocolate, caramel, roasted nuts, and brown spice flavors. It finishes with a long charred oak, vanilla, and burnt caramel fade:— aery severe, dry, and elegant rum.
