Mount Gay Eclipse Gold was conceived in 1910 during the total solar eclipse and the passage of Halley's comet.
This Amber rum gets its golden color from aging in oak casks from Kentucky, which brings some fruit flavors and is smoky with a hint of vanilla. The floral and spicy notes of rum agree that a balanced and subtle mix reveals a perfect harmony of aromas. The aging takes two to five years.
Great golden amber color. Aromas of buttered raisin toast, spice, banana, and caramel. A soft entry leads to a dryish medium body of coconut cream, mashed banana, nutmeg, and wet limestone flavors. It finishes with smooth, gentle caramelized nut and pepper fade. Tasty.
