Père Labat (Father Labat) invented rum by improving his development process by introducing Charentaise distillation (used to make the Cognac). Instead of a sharp and burning alcohol, he obtained floral and round rum. Here is the rum origin. Père Labat agricultural white rum is rich and very rustic.
