Botran
Ron Botran is a renowned Guatemalan rum brand with a rich heritage in sugarcane cultivation. Established in 1939 by the five Botran brothers—Venancio, Andrés, Felipe, Jesús, and Alejandro—the brand launched under Industrias Licoreras de Guatemala, the nation’s foremost distillery, also famed for Ron Zacapa.
The Botran family discovered that the high-altitude climate of Quetzaltenango (2,300 m) offers ideal aging conditions, as cooler temperatures slow maturation, yielding nuanced complexity. Employing a distinctive “Dynamic Ageing System” inspired by the traditional Solera process, Botran blends rums sequentially through Bourbon, Sherry, Port, and other casks, creating multi-layered, harmonious spirits.
Botran is Guatemala’s first rum producer to achieve sustainable, carbon-neutral status—earning ISCC certification for its environmental stewardship and commitment to social responsibility.
Signature Expressions:
Reserva Blanca: A crystal-clear white rum aged a minimum of 3–4 years, offering sleek, floral notes and delicate smoothness.
Reserva (15 años): A blend of rums aged 5 to 14 years, with layered notes of dried fruit, cocoa, and subtle spice.
Añejo 5, 8, and 12 años: Age-stated expressions that showcase vibrant, evolving profiles across the range.
