Bielle
Bielle Rum originates from the rugged island of Marie-Galante, part of Guadeloupe, and has embodied the spirit of traditional rhum agricole since 1769, when the Bielle family first began cultivating cane in Grand-Bourg. A sugar mill was established in 1826, and, by the early 20th century, the estate had evolved into a distillery. Production was paused for a time until Paul Rameaux revived operations in 1958; stewardship later passed to his grand-nephew, Dominique Thiéry, in 1975. Remaining fiercely independent and family-run, the distillery has been under the general management of Anne-Cécile Thiéry, Dominique’s daughter, since 2020.
Located in the heart of Marie-Galante, Bielle is among the island’s few producers committed to true artisanal methods: cane is hand-harvested and pressed immediately, distillation is carried out in a historic Savalle column still, and only the purest spring water is used. Eco-conscious practices are integral to production, with bagasse fueling the boilers and vinasse treated through innovative phytoremediation systems.

Classic white agricole rums at 50% and 59% ABV—renowned for their vibrant, fresh cane profile and invigorating character.
Amber and aged rums, such as "Brut de Fût," "Les Rhums Vieux," and coveted single-vintage bottlings (2003, 2007), are highly prized by connoisseurs for their complexity—layered with tropical fruit, spice, licorice, and honeyed wood.
“Arrangé” (infused) rums, including Vanilla, Coffee, Coconut, Shrubb (citrus), and Wood Bandé, are crafted by macerating natural fruits and spices in pottery—always in small, artisanal batches with no artificial additives.
